Kinbaku: Motion, Extension and Deep Compression

This is a five-day-intensive Workshop to experience our bodies and feelings in ropes. The subjects this years will be : Motion, Extension and Deep Compression.
In this workshop, we will work on these two paradox ways of using the constant movement or the capability to push the model into deep compression.
Like the past two years the workshop is meant equally for rigger and model, both will be trained and face challenges.
Program :
Every day will be based on this pattern :
Body preparation
Basic sensation on the floor
Technical reminder
Experimentation and application mainly on suspension and half suspension
Level : medium to advanced, people should at least be able to do and stand suspension such as Yokotsuri, Gyakuebi-tsuri and futamomo in any style.
As usual the guiding idea for the workshop is to use exercises from Japanese martial arts, massage and of course rope techniques to create moments of kinbaku where both the rigger and the model are truly present – from first eye-contact to the very end of the interaction.
Immobilization is just one aspect of the art of Japanese rope bondage – movement, mental as well as physical, are also part of the picture. Rigger and model can be seen as involved in a dance together, where the movement of one will spontaneously move the other. In studying this, we will explore how thin the line between spirit and body can be.
